About Summit

Summit Christian School has been developed to meet the needs of Christians in this community who believe in growing a new generation of leaders who live and learn with Christian character. Summit is taking applications for the 2013-2014 school year, now including Preschool through 10th grades. Come experience the way school should be by taking a tour, having your student shadow or by simply applying today.

It’s not the school buildings and facilities that make a great school, but what happens inside, that makes it exceptional.  And it’s not the mind of a student, but what’s inspired within that mind that makes a true difference. Our students are taught in an environment that inspires faith, values and learning – where students are free to learn and live with Christian character!Summit is an exciting place where  we experience the presence of His Spirit and hear the many ways that God is working in our families lives every day. Our faculty, staff, students and families desire to pursue God by understanding the application of  the Bible to our lives in ways that transform our hearts so that we become more Christ like. This transformational attitude changes the atmosphere of the entire school culture, on the playground, in the classroom and in our relationship to God.

Our approach to discipline is simple

“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another” Romans 12:9-10

Our Elementary School discipleship program is based on Tedd & MargieTripp’s concepts presented in their excellent book Instructing a Child’s Heart.  We seek to love student, understand their unique needs, speak  Truth through encouragement and correction, and walk alongside students and families to help grow children in their own personal walk with the Lord.

Summit Christian School was established in obedience to the teaching of Scripture that all life must be lived in loving submission to the Lord’s will, and that the Christian community in general and parents in particular have a great responsibility to educate their children in the love, discernment, wisdom, knowledge and righteousness of their sovereign God.

Christian education views each student as an image bearer of God, called to be His servant and called to serve the world in His name.  Summit Christian School seeks to partner with Christian parents to accomplish this task which God has assigned. The Bible motivates and regulates us in the development of education for Christian living and Christian service both in Christian community and in society at large.

Summit’s Story

The Fair Oaks Campus has been educating and encouraging students in the Lord for about 35 years. Located on Hazel Avenue at Grace Bible Church, this school has also resided at Sunrise Community and Redeemer Covenant over the years.

A New Work

From this rich history arose a group of parents who were inspired to breathe new life into the campus with a new kind of Christian school in 2009. They created Summit based upon the belief that the God of the Bible would provide for those who trusted in Him when we glorify Him with out lives. A new school was created, inter-denominational and appealing to believers from all  churches, designed to raise a new group of Christian leaders who authentically know God.

We believe that in the midst of today’s declining moral climate, it is even more essential to offer a solid, grace based and bible-based learning environment, one that is affordable to families and represents the values of the community and one whose purpose is to transform lives of young people.

Summit  Today

Those same parents and community members who shared the vision to start this new and innovative Christian school constitute our school board today. This model serves to insure that Summit remains a non profit school that is governed by the parents who pay the tuition, and a school that it is based upon an ongoing review of our costs. This provides our community with a stable Christian school that is affordable, one with academic and spiritual excellence, a school that reflects the values of the families and churches that it serves.

Teachers & Staff

This school has been blessed with highly-qualified teachers that have invested their time, energy, and love into these students for many years. We have a unique student body that is kind and compassionate to those around them and who enjoy the family they have come to find at school because they have a heart for God.

We are also honored to have an outstanding administrative team in our highly qualified Principal /Administrator who directs the spiritual and academic programs. and administrative assistants who facilitate the day to day operations of the school and support the teaching staff, students and parents.

Summit Christian School has developed to become what we believe this community wants and needs and we are experiencing the confirming Hand of the Lord daily.  Parents, staff and churches joined together to make this vision a very successful reality for 2009-2013 school years by doubling our enrollment in just three years! Summit is now taking applications for the 2012-2013 school year now including 9th grade.
