High School

We have designed our academic program to utilize the power of digital technology to bring a rich course offering that includes Advanced Placement classes through Christian on line providers as well as traditional classes on site. This innovative model known as “blended learning” allows Summit to maintain our well known discipleship and relational environment while providing the best in academics.

Students attend classes in Electives, Bible, PE, and Mathematics (through Algebra) and take their other classes via the internet with our online classes and teachers in the Resource Center. Summit provides filtered internet access, (wireless and wired) to students, who may bring their own devices (laptops or tablets) or use Summit school computers.

Because of our high academic standards and our desire to have courses taught from a Christ-centered, biblical perspective, Summit Christian High School has chosen to offer online courses to supplement our course selections. These courses are built upon award winning curriculum with Christian teachers selected from all over the world.Online teachers answer questions and grade assignments and tests. They have direct interaction with the student on a regular basis as the course progresses. Our counselors, administrators, and lab monitors are also in constant contact with the student as they are working through the course.

Online courses may be accessed 24/7 from anywhere the internet is available, but students will establish their schedule for online classes during school hours with the onsite mentor. Students may “flex” their schedule (for example work on one subject all day) provided they keep their “pace”. While students are on campus they are required to be working on their online classes and attending traditional onsite classes at the scheduled times.

The world is changing. The landscape of education is also changing. Online learning is a growing and effective facet of today’s educational environment. Students in college are exposed to online learning at all levels. The workplace and military demand proficiency in using online resources to meet today’s challenges.

We want to equip our students to excel beyond graduation by introducing them to online learning as part of our ministry. We believe that our students can be an influence for Christ in a high-tech society. Summit Christian High School is a “school of tomorrow”designed to provide excellence in spiritual and academic education. To achieve this mission we are dedicated to “growing the next the next generation of leaders who will learn and live with Christian character.”
